It was the best thing I ever did… marrying him. Then, two months later, I wake up to him dead. I still hurt for him daily.

My Soulmate

Posted By Proud Military Widow, Dulcia Burkhart

We were happy and full of love.
He was like the man of every woman’s dreams. He sang to me, danced, always romantic and fun.
We got married April 27, 2012. It was the best thing I ever did… marrying him. Then, two months later, I wake up to him dead. I still hurt for him daily.
He was just a dream come true and like that, he’s taken from me. Ever since he passed away, my life is not the same. I lost my everything. My world crashed in front of me. I thought my life had ended and it felt as though my heart died with him.
He was my soulmate and we will be together again.

  1. Dulcia,
My heart goes out to you. I too am a widow for 624 days. My precious Brian was not a soldier, but a very good man, all the same. I can empathize with your loss and offer my prayers and support. I can not say that your pain will go away or that your heart won’t ache for him. I can say that life goes on if we are brave enough to pursue happiness. You will laugh again, and your soulmate would want that for you.
    I wish you Peace,
    Stefani Wade
